Tom Cruise plans to delay filming his new Mission Impossible movie to attend the coronation of King Charles.
The movie star, 60, has reportedly decided to halt filming for the eighth installment in the Mission: Impossible spy franchise to attend the Coronation on May 6.
According The sunthe royal event is something he “won’t miss” and “never turn down”.
An insider told the publication: ‘Tom was invited to the coronation of King Charles and he would never have refused.
“It’s a hugely prestigious event and Tom is a real royalist – plus he’s now close to Prince William and Kate. Tom told movie bosses to halt production of Mission: Impossible over Coronation weekend to ensure he could attend.

“It came as a shock to some people on film, as Tom is so dedicated to his craft and would never normally stray from his intense production schedules.
“But something as important – and grand – as the coronation of King Charles is something he wouldn’t want to miss.
“It’s a huge thing for Tom to be invited and he’s honoured.”
The actor has been getting closer to the royal family lately and last year treated William and Kate to an advanced screening of Top Gun: Maverick.
They had a world premiere of the film last March and the trio watched the star-studded London premiere up close two months later.
The A-lister, 59, reached out to the Duchess of Cambridge, 40, as she navigated a flight of stairs at the premiere.
Cruise was on hand to escort the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge down the red carpet and introduce them to her co-stars, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm and Miles Teller.
When he reached a small set of stairs in front of the couple, Cruise immediately turned around and held out his hand to the Duchess, who was walking beside him.

Kate, who looked stunning in a Roland Mouret column dress and black heels, reached out to take her hand for extra support.
The couple chatted happily as they walked down the red carpet to meet the rest of the film’s cast.
The chivalrous moment was spotted by royal watchers, who praised Cruise for helping Kate.
One tweeted: “He is always a gentleman and never forgets for a second how to behave in public.”

Cruise also took part in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in Windsor, saying it was an “honour” to be involved.
Two children who spoke to William and Kate revealed the couple’s own offspring, George, Charlotte and Louis, were disgusted to miss the glitzy screening.
Alfie Everett-Fletcher, nine, who met William at the movies, said: “He asked me what I liked about the last one, the things I like, if I like jets, planes and motorcycles.”
Alfie said William told him he was a “huge fan” of the film and the “cars and such”.
His mother Elise Everett added, “He said they had the movie theme played with their kids.”
Alfie also said William told him his own children were “jealous” of missing the premiere.
Ahead of the premiere, Cruise, 59, said he and the Duke of Cambridge “have a lot in common” as he spoke of his admiration for the royal.
‘We have a lot in common. We both love England and we’re both airmen, we both love to fly,” he said.
The actor also expressed his joy at being back on the red carpet, saying, “I love what I do, I’ve always loved it and I enjoy it even more now.” “Particularly after the past two years, just to have an event like this is extraordinary.”
