Mysterious moment a woman is dropped off at hospital with a severed spine – before the man drives off in a white Mercedes

A man who dropped a woman off at hospital with a suspected severed spine is wanted by police after she mysteriously disappeared from the scene.

The 37-year-old had arrived at the emergency department of Bankstown Hospital in Sydney’s west just before 1am on January 12 with a gunshot wound to her chest.

A man had dropped her off at the hospital, but when police arrived he had fled the area on foot, with his white Mercedes Benz sedan found abandoned nearby.

Police then stopped at a house on Simmat Avenue in Condell Park where bullet holes and casings were found, and a crime scene was set up.

The woman remains in hospital with serious spinal injuries and damage to internal organs.

Detectives have issued a public appeal for help in locating the man who drove her to hospital.

He is described as Mediterranean/Middle Eastern in appearance, about 175cm tall, with a medium build and a black beard.

At the time, he wore a black hoodie and black shorts over full-length black tights.
