While discussing the fact that it’s been 20 years since How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days Kate says if she’d do a sequel, “We both [me and Matthew McConaughey] have the same feeling about it; if for some reason a great idea came across our desk and read it well, yes, I’d look at it all over again.

“I like working with Matthew. I don’t know… I’m sure it would start with marital conflict. Or maybe… I have no idea. How do you lose a husband in 20 years…?’

The pair also made a movie together in 2008, called Fool’s Gold, where they play Tess and Finn, an estranged husband and wife who rediscover their love for each other after going on an adventure to find a lost treasure.

Speaking of kissing in Fool’s Gold, she says, “That definitely wasn’t much fun to shoot.

‘Ocean, swimming and kissing is not always pleasant. Things happen in the ocean, like dirty things… we’re like treading water trying to stay afloat.”

She adds, “Matthew and I have had very romantic kisses and then we have had very non-romantic kisses. So a sequel would lead to really interesting things.”

The actress added: “I love how real Matthew is… we have a little fighting spirit with each other, we know how to push each other’s buttons.

“We work hard, we play hard. To me Matthew is so original and so authentic who you think he is is who he is.’

Kate was joined on the Jonathan Ross couch by rapper Stormzy, singer Joan Armatrading and comedian Róisín Conaty.

She donned a fuchsia pink strapless dress with black tights and wore her blonde locks in a glamorous bouncy curl and a full face of makeup.

On filming romantic scenes himself, Stormzy spoke of his Hide & Seek video, “Me and the team said it had to be a high level actor. I’m a lousy actor.

“The idea of me going on set with someone who’s clumsy and I’m clumsy. We have saffron [Hocking] in and she is a true professional. She really put me at ease and ran the whole thing.”

Stormzy then asks Kate, “When I see sex scenes, I’m like, ‘How do you guys do that?’ It’s your job, of course, but… as an average gambler, it seems extremely difficult. Can there be… excitement… everyone has thought it!”

Kate laughs: “Interesting question. I think it’s so mechanical and there are so many people around.

“Usually they close the set and you have to talk it out a bit and the guys wear belts. It’s very… tucked away.

“It kind of takes the fun out of it, I think. One time it is more fun than the other time. It just depends on the circumstance and the security you feel with that actor and how safe the space feels. It can get uncomfortable.’

Kate also talks about her mom Goldie Hawn and what she’s like as a grandmother: “She’s hands-on, ish…she’s more like a tornado.” She comes in, tornadoes like rainbows and flowers and happiness and then she’s gone.

“And you’re like, ‘Where’s Mommy?’ All nice things. We are very dependent on each other [she lives nearby].’

She adds, “She’s seven blocks from me. I actually bought the house I grew up in. My mother sold the house, we moved to another house, 12 years later I bought my mother’s house back. What happy memories.’

Kate also reveals her experience starring in her latest release – Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery alongside Daniel Craig: ‘He’s so funny. His physical comedy. I was really surprised how comical he is in his body,” she gushes.

‘He’s kinda goofy. I didn’t know Daniel at all and I only know him from his Bond movies. He’s so great.’

After Jonathan teases that the next Bond is Stormzy, he responds, “No, no, no… I’d be so stupid. “Yo, I’m Bond”. It’s not the one. I wish I could.’

When asked about Daniel Craig’s accent, Kate says, “He’s doing a great job. He also works hard for it. He comes to settle in and can get in and out so he doesn’t have to stay in it.’
