Taking to Instagram, the Good Morning Britain presenter, 55, admitted her mood had finally improved after feeling like she had been “painfully stepping on the ice” since Sunday.
Kate is caring for husband Derek Draper, also 55, who has been a long-time COVID sufferer since 2020 after falling seriously ill with the virus at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
In her new post, the presenter snapped a photo of a blooming yellow crocus in her garden and shared her positivity after the difficult 48 hours.
She wrote: “That’s why I love nature and gardening so much – after 48 awkward hours of feeling like I’m climbing a hill on ice, my first crocus is bursting – the spirit of life and l hope in a gorgeous yellow form!!”

It comes after Kate shared a rare snap of husband Derek with one of her carers on Friday.
Taking to Instagram, she posted a tribute to Jake and encouraged her followers to support his music, revealing he released a song called okukuseku.
Derek has been long ill with COVID since 2020 and Jake cared for him when he was first released from the hospital.
In the snap of his fingers, the carer held his hand as he looked down at him and smiled.
Kate captioned her post: “Many of you will remember Jake caring for Derek when he was released from hospital on April 21 – from the documentary #caringforderek so you will know what a wonderful professional he is of health.”
She continued, “But I just found out he’s also an amazing musician – going by the name @sencymiller.x – He just released a song called okuseku (check it out in his bio) – which, unsurprisingly, is full of love and inspiration to keep going and never give up.
“The world of caregivers never fails to amaze me with their depth of talent, thoughtfulness and motivation #happyfriday all!”

It came after Kate was overwhelmed last week as she confronted former Health Secretary Matt Hancock over his handling of the pandemic and his decision to continue I’m A Celebrity…Take Me Out from here.
Derek fought for his life after contracting coronavirus in March 2020. He became the UK’s worst suffering coronavirus patient after spending 13 months in hospital and remains very ill.
His broadcaster wife fought back tears as she told Mr Hancock that millions of Britons still feel ‘very raw’ about the pandemic and the repeated lockdown, saying: ‘At the time it mattered that I couldn’t couldn’t visit Derek in the hospital, he couldn’t see his children.
“Thousands of other people couldn’t see the people they liked because they were following the guidelines. The rules were very confusing for us here.
Mr Hancock was finally forced to resign in June 2021 when he was caught flouting his own social distancing advice by kissing Gina Coladangelo – whom he hired with taxpayers’ money.
Describing the public’s anger towards him, Kate added of her decision to appear on I’m a Celebrity: “It feels like you still don’t understand why they’re angry.” You still don’t understand why people are upset. They want to hold you accountable. Mr Hancock replied: ‘I understand all of that. I really do. I really feel it.

Defending his affair, he said: ‘I’m only human. We all have our frailties and I fell in love,” adding, “But that’s no excuse and that’s why I’ve been open about it. That’s why I asked for forgiveness. He has repeatedly denied breaking the law.
Ms Garraway asked him if he understood the anger people felt towards him, especially those separated by hospitalized relatives.
She then became tearful and looked up as she talked about Derek, who has been sick for almost three years.
“I guess the problem is that you were the Health Secretary. Thousands of children couldn’t see the people they loved,’ she said of visiting restrictions in the NHS for so long under her watch.

Anger: Ms Garraway said Mr Hancock felt like he didn’t understand why people were so angry with him
Mr Hancock earlier insisted he had not sued I’m A Celebrity for the money, as he had insisted that the 3% of his £320,000 fee he had donated to charity were substantial.
Susanna Reid asked him: ‘Are you telling the truth when you say he [money] wasn’t your primary motivation?
The former health secretary replied: “Absolutely. I donated part of the money to charity.
“I didn’t do it primarily (go to the reality show) for the money, I mainly did it to try to show who I am.”
Mr Hancock insisted his £10,000 donation was a ‘decent sum’ and was ‘more than my MP’s salary’.
He conceded that “of course there was a discussion and negotiation about fees”.
